Hi, Neither the NearCell, nor the NearWifi/WifiConnected functions work when the Location service is turned off. Cmon' it's not as expected... I have to turn on the location service to get the info: Am I connected to wifi or not??? In this case if I need any info about my location (or the reachability of the Wifi), should I turn on the location service? It's crapy. Android 9 Nokia 7.1 Takser: 5.6

I made a divert call profile, that did not work as expected (I set the pattern to **1 and redirect to my Mom's number, without knowing about the significance of * char). Basically, any call to a number ending in 1 was diverted to Mom.

I deleted the profile but the diverted action was still active. I restarted the phone - same.

I disabled Tasker -  the diversion was off. Enabling Tasker reactivated the diversion.

Phone: Xiaomi Mi A1 - Android Pie.

I'll have to stop using Tasker untill the problem is solved.

Update: I deleted all profiles and restarted

Hello, i'm using tasker for several years now for some routine scripts (launch music player when bluetooth headset is connected then launch music, send domoticz commands when i come home, that kind of things). I updated my phone (Xiaomi MIA1) to Android 9.0 friday night and now tasker is not able to activate any profile at all. The app is of course removed from battery optimization and is always running. I activated all permissions and accessibility either.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it did nothing. If i test the profiles one by one it works correctly. Thanks.

When a media volume task is executed from a profile, the level is lower than if you execute the task directly.

Example: I have a profile that executes a task when a spesific bluetooth device is connected.  The task is set to open Spotify, wait for 10 seconds and adjust the media volume to max (30). But the volume is always set to lower than max. I have to reach down in my pocket to get the 2 or 3 last clicks up to max. The task works as intended if I press the play button inside the task

When I activate accessibility for Tasker on my Android TV (Mi Box) running Oreo I can no longer access the left bar of apps, only the cards on the right.

Check the attached image, normally you can access everything shown in the picture. But as soon as I activate accessibility I cannot move the "cursor" over to the left (circled in blue).

I am 100% that Tasker is the problem, tested on two boxes, same thing.

It seems, that detecting cell towers isn't possible in Android Pi anymore, when location services are disabled. According to the answer at https://tasker.helprace.com/i301-cell-near-does-not-work-in-android-9 i must enable location services all the time, wo get this working. Its also stated, that this does not use GPS. But isn't it in this case more accurate to switch to location based switching, instead of only cell tower? To my understanding, this would switch the profile in a radius of for example 300 meters around my position. But isnt this using more battery power? Or is turning on location services not using my battery at all, instead

When migrating to a  new phone the settings don't get copied over with Samsung Smart Switch. So, I tried creating a manual backup on the old phone, which creates a local file backup but the manual restore option looks for a Google drive backup.

Please sync up manual backup and restore options.

When I tap on the help button in Tasker I often get "page not available". Because I use German system language Tasker help links to German help pages. That's nice, but many pages seem not to be translated.

Please, if there is no German help page but an English one for an item redirect to the English page.

I have an Android 5.1 phone where the End Call action works properly. I have another Android 5.1 phone where Tasker shows the End Call action as disabled. However, in the past I was able to import a task that included the End Call action into the disabled phone and the End Call action would still work. Now when I attempt this, the End Call action just brings up a notification saying (paraphrasing) "End Call action is disabled on this device." It would be nice if Tasker attempted to perform the End Call action even if it is deemed disabled

I've noticed that since the last upgrade(s), there's a problem with the sequence of the enter/exit tasks.

I wondered why some of my profiles didn't work exactly as they used to work and suspected some tasks not to be performed or performed more then once.

To check this i added counters to each enter and exit tasks on the profiles which gave a problem. These counters count one up each time a task is executed.

This confirmed my assumption that sometime the enter tasks where performed but that the exit tasks never where executed when the profile was deactivated and

Lock code protection is not functioning properly in Tasker and security is compromised:

1. Tasker is lock code protected

2. Long-pressing Tasker icon on the phone's Home screen opens a popup with options such as Settings, Run Log, Edit Task.

3. Tapping Edit Task, for example, takes the user straight to the editable Tasker task with no lock code prompts

4. Now, selecting Cancel from the task takes the user to the task list, i.e. giving an unauthorized user full access to do whatever (s)he wants with Tasker

It appears that from tasker V5.6 causes custom set live wallpaper and lock screen image to always revert back to defaults when reset or screen turned off.

I'm running Ironman Rom V1.2.0 on Note 8 NS950F Android 7.1.1. 

This issue did not occur prior to V5.6.

The "Cell Near" feature in Profiles does not work in Android 9, neither with the original mode nor with the "new API" that is suggested in the app. specific conclusions at this time:  - No cell information is returned if I scan for the current location  - No current cell information is recognised, and therefore profiles with "Cell Near" as entry condition currently do not work

I have imported a tasker project from my mobile phone to an Nvidia shield TV, when I execute the task I get an error message by a "Custom Setting" action:
