Assistance Request targetted to a specific app is always running for every app

KTasker · 2 · Last reply by João Dias

    Tasker Version: 6.0.10

    App Check Method: Accessibility

    OS: LineageOS 19 (Android 12L)

When using the Assistance Request event profile,  even when it's targetted to a specific application and the application is not loaded,  the profile still executes.

    Reproduce by:

    1. Create Event Profile with: Assistance Request for Calculator.  Action is Flash some text.

    2. Open any other app (eg. File Manager),  perform an assistance request,  and the Flash text will be shown.

Set Alarm does not take into account "Vibrate" setting

    Ed255 · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

When I perform the action "Set Alarm" with "Vibrate" set to "Off", the alarm will still vibrate when it goes off. Changing the parameter does not seem to impact the alarm that will be set.

However, the parameters for hours, minutes, and label work perfectly fine.

Tested on OnePlus 10 Pro - OxygenOS 13.

    Permissions Issue after uninstall/reinstall

I accidentally uninstalled tasker, but I was lucky enough to have a recent backup. Upon reinstalling, a few of my tasks give me permissions errors.

    1) One of my tasks I use as an alarm. The "Music Play" action gives the following error:

I even went to grant document tree access and selected the root folder and it still doesn't work. That file does exist in that location too. I also tried setting up another task that requires me to browse files on my

    App Factory Download doesn't exist

Hallo, when I try to export a Task as app and App Factory is not installed, I get a message to download it. But the link is dead:

    http://appfactory.dinglisch.net/AppFactory.apk

There is no subdomain appfactory.dinglisch.net obviously anymore. So I ended with download from some apk-download-sites, where I found it. But it doesn't work, which is another bug... frank

    Old workaround possible for muting

    psisquared2 · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

On my Fairphone 4, Android 11, I ran into the known issue with Sound Mode -> Mute that you reported to Google in https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/205205662 (you can add the Fairphone 4 to the list of affected phones). I furthermore noticed that this old workaround on Reddit reliably sets the phone to Silent on my device:

    1. Set DND Mode "No interruptions"
    2. (Immediately) set DND Mode "Priority"
    3. Wait 50 ms
    4. Set DND Mode "Allow All"

Not sure if it works on the other phones, but I found it worth mentioning.

"Perform Task" return does not write to task variable

Tortuosit of Tapiola · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

    As reported here: https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/comments/wj17wy/perform_task_return_not_overwriting_task_variable/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

"Problem: A "Perform Task" return value does not write directly into a task variable, it should absolutely be able to, IMO. Or is it intended for some reason? I would guess it is the same for project/profile variables.

So currently I have to name the return %somename, then var set %taskvar=%somename.

Note that the "overwrite" and "replace on passthrough" are unrelated here, we're not talking about variable passthrough, but function call/return."

    Airplane mode permissions issue

sadot · 1 · Last reply by sadot

20.40.51/E Missing permissions. Digital Assistant. Check notifications.

Why this permission is needed to turn on airplane mode? Even if I try to grant permissions switching to Tasker Voice Assistant nothing is changing.

Anomaly on taking into account calendar event

    B@rberousse · 7 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hi there

I created a profile that performs tasks on a calendar entry ("Telework" in this case). The event is recurrent in my calendar. The profile works perfectly.

However, sometimes I have to change the date of one (or more) of my teleworking days.

In this case, the scheduled tasks continue to run on the days when there is no more telework in my calendar and, conversely, do not run on the days when I have moved the telework.

Any idea on solving the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

"Error - accessibility service not running"

I use Tasker with the AutoInput and AutoApps plugins across several devices to run tasks. Lately, I've been having actions randomly fail with the error "Accessibility service not running" despite it running quite happily for months prior. Using an AutoInput Action to click certain coordinates, doesn't not present an error, but the click does not happen. The permissions are set as they always have been and I have done nothing to change them. It is as if the service just forgets it has been set up. The only way I have found to fix this has been to clear the
