    Toggle Samsung Performance Profile

Caio Bomani Carromeu · 3 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hello.

I'm no longer a root-enabled Android user and it would be really useful to automate turning on/off Samsung "recently" released performance profile (standard x light) in certain conditions as a "workaround" for not being able to do this natively with Tasker CPU control due to the lack of privileges.

Add sensitive content to the clipboard.

Vlad Garbuz · 1 · Last reply by Vlad Garbuz

Per android documentation "ClipboardManager.setPrimaryClip(). Adding this flag prevents sensitive content from appearing in the visual confirmation of copied content in Android 13 and higher."

Would be really cool to have an option to add sensitive content to the clipboard.

Finally mix all autoapps inside tasker

JasonYate · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I think that, although the development work is difficult, it is necessary and urgent to unite the autoapps with tasker, since using the plugins constantly consume battery and memory and adb options are not 100% stable as they need to be enabled every time the phone is rebooted. This would help a lot to those of us who try to make kid apps and offer our users a single app and not multiple apps for the proper functioning of the Kid App.

Add WRITE_SETTINGS and MODIFY_PROFILES to manifest

Helium · 1 · Last reply by Helium

    Hello,

I'm wondering if these two permissions could be added to the manifest?

These two simple lines have the potential to greatly ease the life of LineageOS users

According to: Official LineageOS SDK manifest:

    • Allows an application to write to Lineage system settings
    • Allows an application to modify system profiles

Anyway, thank you a lot for letting us enjoying this wonderful Tasker application!

    Non root closing app

Lilly t · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

Add closing app feature like in app hibernator https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tafayor.hibernator . It is could be made by accessibility service.

It is useful for making script which can ask for password before opening app. Another one, script for battery saving.

Ability to remove the appearance of notification in case of an error in the actions of the plugins

    Benson9999 · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

If it's not too much trouble, could you add an option to the plugin actions to disable the notification to appear in case of an error when performing the action. I'd like to be able to control this to only get an error notification from actions that shouldn't end with an error. When the Continue Task After Error option is enabled, you don't always need to be notified since an error is allowed at that point and you don't need to be notified about it.

Feature request to restart accessibility services automatically when it will malfunctioning

Nikhil Sinha · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

Hey Tasker founder, sometimes it happens that the accessibility permission of an app remains turned on, but it doesn't work. An error message appears stating that 'this service is malfunctioning.' Also, you mentioned an update from nine months ago that if someone turns off accessibility for any app, it will automatically turn back on. However, in my Android system, the accessibility permission of an app stays turned on, but it doesn't work, and I keep getting the 'this service is malfunctioning' error. Tasker doesn't seem to be aware of this issue because it is designed to function when the accessibility

allow use of icons from web sources

Josh McKevitz · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

It would be amazing if we could use MDI icons in Tasker similar to how they are used in home-automation platforms like Home Assistant.

All that needs to be done to choose a particular icon (a cat, for example) is define

    icon: "mdi-cat"

and the cat icon is loaded. It would be great if, instead of including a very limited subset, Tasker could download an icon from materialdesignicons.com on-demand and cache it locally for use. The number of available icons is staggering!

AutoInput option to clear default variables/arrays before query

RegiOween · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hello Taskers!

I would like to suggest a fix to something I don't necessarily consider a bug, but a weird behaviour sometimes, since I can't reproduce the error:

An AutoInput option to clear default variables/arrays before query.

I have a somewhat big task (more than 200 lines) that runs in loop, in which the first action was AutoInput UI Query, with infinite timeout, waiting for a specific app (99 Driver), and a 1 second wait between each loop.

It was running fine most of the time, but sometimes it started to do strange things not expected in the task.

    Pick input dialog

StaffanT · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I've been playing with the Pick Input Dialog action and have found that the ContactNumber type behaves differently to that of the Send SMS Search Number option, even though they seem to do exactly the same thing. When using the Pick Input Dialog there is a long delay after selecting a contact but selecting a contact with the search function in Send SMS is immediate. I understand that these two actions may not be completely the same but the underlying code might be (?) So my question is, can the Pick Input Dialog be enhanced so that it behaves in

More filters for the logcat event

Don Huan · 2 · Last reply by João Dias

The logcat event is such an amazing tool but I wish there were more filters!

The additional filters are of course optional and should work in tandem with each other via boolean operators.

I'll give you a quick example of what I mean. Imagine a log of the following structure:

[Servicename]: [1st fixed string] [variable string, a random id for example] [2nd fixed string] [irrelevant]

The filter would not work consistently in this case due to the changing nature of the log. However, the logcat event could work if we had two filters set up like this:

    Filter 1: [1st

Long Tapping a Quick Setting Button

Zohar · 2 · Last reply by crixi

    Hi Joao

Tasker enables adding buttons in the Quick Settings toolbar, and setting each button to execute a Task. This is done in the Preferences screen, under the "Actions" tab.

Currently Quick Settings buttons that are created by Tasker, behave like this: Regular Tap executes the defined task, and Long Tap opens Tasker's Preferences screen.

The behavior of the second one (Long Tap) is a bit of waste. Instead of having all Tasker created buttons to lead to the Preferences screen upon long tapping them, it would be much more useful If we can define for each button, a Long

Output empty strings for unused %evtprm() variables

Steven Buehler · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

Feature request: When outputting variables' values to a task (i.e., adding a row to a Google sheet or text file), instead of outputting "%evtprm8" if %evtprm8 is empty (as an example), output an empty or null string.

When I use the Google Sheets plug-in and when I export to text file as CSV, whenever Tasker encounters a variable with an empty value it outputs the name of the variable instead of null or empty value.

Text a message using MY CELL NUMBER referencing a list of cell numbers

Jason · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

Is there already a pre-made project to all me to send a message to a list of cell numbers, either in a document on my phone or from my contacts, using MY CELL NUMBER? Hoping there is an automation that can do this with Tasker.   Example: I want to send "Hello this is Einstein, hope you are having a great week, let me know if I can help with your physics homework" to a list of 345 cell numbers I have in my contacts or from a document on my phone. Do this using MY CELL NUMBER so they all

Pick a call and Enter a DTMF key

Muhammad Faheem · 2 · Last reply by João Dias

There are many scenarios in which we get a call and have to click on a specific key in number pad (DTMF) to give authentication/permission, etc. Example, Gate security system where when someonw tries to enter, we get a call, and have to click on a specific number/key to let them in. But entering a DTMF key doesn't seems to be an option currently with Tasker. This would be very useful
