Expand the Favorite Actions feature so that it can include the saving of Action parameters as part of the Favorite

CICS Starter · 2 · Last reply by CICS Starter

With the abundance of new options soon to be available for the Flash action, it has become even more obvious that there needs to be some way to provide user specifiable defaults for Action parameters.

One possible solution would be to expand the Favorite Actions feature so that it would include the saving of Action parameters as part of the Favorite. This feature should be available for all actions. That way the user can save any action as a Favorite along with its default parameters. The use of the favorite will be the same as now but when the Favorite

    New media test action/state monitor

Tyler T · 3 · Last reply by Lucas Abido Figueiro

An action that can be performed inside of a task that will test and return the current media state variables similar to the event trigger "Music track changed". This would allow tasker to be configured to check the media state in the event that tasker detected music playing, was disabled, and then re-enabled but music was no longer playing. Basically a manual check in case of error.

The only way I can see currently to do this, is to configure a AutoNotification state monitor that checks for media notifications with certain apps. But would be great to have built into

Auto trim array elements (global, optional)

    Hi Joao,

for readability or in unknown input, in Variable Set or Array Set, we often have elements with leading or trailing spaces:

    5, 23, 14.745 ,  12

A very common technique we probably have to deal with, at least I do it this way, is to variable split with Regex (\s*,\s*). If array elements have been created with Array Set, we may need to do a Search/Replace of whitespace in the array elements.

IDEA: Let Tasker trim leading and trailing whitespace from array variables on creation and assignment. This should be a global option and initially turned off, for

Use emojis and text for icons

Bertie Beck · 2 · Last reply by Bertie Beck

Auto notification has three different icon options which can't use the same source, tasks have another. There are hundreds of emojis in keyboards now and the ability to use the same icon for a task and notification and notification status bar icon would be simple to use and look nice and consistent.

Help managing (lot of) missing plugins

    GianMaxTheo · 0 · Posted

I have a lot of tasks not linked to a profile. Several of them have actions that refers to a plugin. And I use quite a lot Tasker plugins. Every now and then I have to export/import my whole configuration to a new phone And until I intercept and install ALL referred plugins, the popup logs will flood me with tens of messages every time I open Tasker. They are demo/study tasks or historical ones, I want to keep them there, and I want to have the popup log activated.

Need some help to avoid going manually through tens of tasks looking

[AutoLocation] Add geofence radius to the AutoLocation Info action.

    Christopher Peralta · 0 · Posted

Right now there's not a good way to backup or restore Geofence configurations.

The best I could come up with was setting up a profile to trigger on all geofences (the event context give geofence radius) with an accompanying task that uses Mock Location to trigger the profile which logs all data needed to create a geofence with the AutoLocation Manage action.

Multiple stroke options for a scene element

    Charles · 2 · Last reply by Viper21

Request to have a scene element linked to multiple stroke actions which triggers different tasks.

E.g. one element triggers task X on a stroke up and triggers task Y on a stroke down.

    Filter Notification Event by type

    Andrzej · 0 · Posted

    Hi,

Android 11 or 10 introduced new type of notifications: silent. Its is configurable per notification channel.

I think, that Tasker should implement it in Notification Event, so user can be able to filter new notification by type silent or normal.

    Add Tertiary App and more

    Christian WS · 0 · Posted

The Secondary App can be used in different contexts, double tap power button, bixby and now double-tap on the back of the device. As it stands, all of those options would trigger the same task.

A solution would be to add a Tertiary and Quaternary App if the others are in use. And seeing how new android versions and manufacturers could add more contexts, it seems to me it would be wise to let the user toggle the number of Secondary Apps they have on their system. This would mean less dev work when, inevitably, a new context is added.

Change the "active" task color to work better on greyscale

Jonathan Moregård · 1 · Last reply by Colin Hemming

I keep my phone on greyscale to make it less addictive. This makes it hard to see if a task/"task condition" is active (the green highlight) You can enable greyscale by Dev options -> Simulate color space -> monochromacy.

Please change the color to make it stand out a bit more on greyscale. Or make it customizable.

Add looping animation for scenes and/or scene elements

    Christian WS · 0 · Posted

Allow configuration of a looping animation in the scene editor. This would prevent elements to be static, which would prevent Burn-In in OLED displays

    Options like:

    -Start position

    -End position

    -Speed

When the scene is created, the element start at it's start position, and it will work its way until it reaches it's end position, at which point it will start in reverse, until it reaches it's start position again, and it will keep looping

Another option would be to spin the element, in which case there would only be the option to control direction and speed. Like a semi-circle

Show Created & Edited Timestamps in Profile and Task Properties Dialogs

    Michael Quinlan · 0 · Posted

Tasker currently displays the date/time that a profile was created in the profile properties dialog.  It would be extremely helpful to have the date/time the profile was last edited also displayed here, and to have both of these dates/times displayed for tasks in the task properties dialog.  This would be a great aid when trying to maintain profiles and tasks across multiple devices.

Dump %TRUN in the log when RejMaxQ occurs

    Wouter · 0 · Posted

When the maximum number of simultaneously running tasks occurs (default 10) no new tasks will be started. The log will show RejMaxQ. Troubleshooting would be much easier if the log would automatically contain the contents of %TRUN at that moment.

Also the toast that notifies the user of the RejMaxQ event is easy to miss. The rejected tasks can cause confusing misconfiguration later on. It is confusing to the user, cause their setup will misbehave, without them having seen the cause, leading to the user troubleshooting in the wrong place. My proposal is to make the RejMaxQ event toast dismissable

Hyperlink to "Task Edit" of called task in "Perform Task"

JL · 2 · Last reply by Wouter

It would make it easier to follow the flow of a task if "Perform task" actions would contain hyperlinks to the task they call. Preferably, both in Task edit and in Action edit. And just like how it works from the search results window already, the back button should lead back to the caller task.

Thanks for continuing to make Tasker more awesome year after year.

Create a list of custom settings at one time

    zc m · 1 · Last reply by zc m

I would like to propose a feature on Tasker.

Automatic searching for "Custom Settings" is very convenient, however it is usually a list of settings found but not only one. So, for most of the time, we have to keep repeating the same process to create a list of action.

For example, when I tap on the power saving mode on the quick toggle, the list of settings may include turn off 5G, turn off AOD, turn off location, change the maintenance windows for quick doze Mode etc.

So, I am thinking is it possible to add checkbox at each

    Save Option in Task

    Lawr · 0 · Posted

If you are editing a task it would be nice to be able to save changes directly in that view.

I see variations on this request (autosave, save on exit, etc.) but what would be really helpful for me would simply be the ability to save a task while in edit mode. I've lost changes many times. When building or  troubleshooting a task I am often in it for a long time and needing to back out and save, then re-enter then, back out, then save... While also running the task and tweaking actions. If there are related tasks that
