Wireless Charging not detected in All charging on Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5

Dale Offret · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

Love Tasker, been using it for over 7 years now across 5 phones.   My current phone is a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5, SM-G900V.  I have a Tasker profile that is designed to inform me when the battery is at 100% and is being charged by "Any" means.  The SM-G900V does not have native wireless charging capabilities.  I purchased and installed a 3rd party wireless charging add-on device for my SM-G900V.  When charging wirelessly, the Tasker state of charging "Any" for my SM-G900V doesn't recognize wireless as a trigger.  I created another profile of charging "Wireless[ly]" with the battery at 100%

Grant Document Tree Access nor working

Ralf · 2 · Last reply by Ralf

    Android 6 (Marshmallow).

When trying to write a file the alert appears that "grant document tree access" is necessary to perform this action next time without asking. Then the usual file manager is displayed where I selected external SD card.

But tasker does not seem to be able to write to the file. The alert reappears instantly. If I select <back> I get an error message

/storage/1234-5678 is external SD card. If I provide the full path to a file on internal storage it works (as expected).

    What's wrong?

AutoWeb Issue: Weather Underground No Longer Require API Keys

BigNutz · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

    https://www.wunderground.com/weather/api

The Weather Underground says no more API keys to be issued. Specifically they are saying this:

"To improve our services and enhance our relationship with our users, we will no longer provide free weather API keys as part of our program. If you have been directed to download our Weather Underground free API key by a third party provider, please contact your vendor for resolution."

Could you update AutoWeb so we can use their new cloud services?

Cell tower based profile switching on Android Pie

    S n · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

It seems, that detecting cell towers isn't possible in Android Pi anymore, when location services are disabled. According to the answer at https://tasker.helprace.com/i301-cell-near-does-not-work-in-android-9 i must enable location services all the time, wo get this working. Its also stated, that this does not use GPS. But isn't it in this case more accurate to switch to location based switching, instead of only cell tower? To my understanding, this would switch the profile in a radius of for example 300 meters around my position. But isnt this using more battery power? Or is turning on location services not using my battery at all, instead

    "Tasker isn't Responding" (v. 5.6 on Oreo)

Viale · 3 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hello João,

I have been enjoyed a paid version of Tasker for years and recently subscribed to your AutoApps. However, in the last few weeks, Tasker is often freezing. Also, profiles that previously worked are suddenly freezing (see screenshot for examples of both). I have been using Tasker on Oreo (Samsung Galaxy S8+, v. 5.2) for almost a year, so this can't be the source of the problem. When the problem appeared, I verified that Tasker is excluded from battery optimization. I also reinstalled and then upgraded to v. 5.6, but the problem persists.

    1. Can you guess what

Profile with on Variable Set gets falsely triggered

Stefan · 3 · Last reply by João Dias

    Here are the relevant profiles:

The first profile detects via WIFI near if you are at a hotel and if so sets the variable Ort to 'Hotel'.

The second profile should trigger only when the variable Ort is set to 'Hotel'. However it seems to trigger without a reason (Hotel WiFi is not close because being at home or at work). This happens only a few times a day. I've attaced a filtered run log and the relevant part of the run log unfiltered as well.

Wifi Near does not properly detect a Wi-Fi network with "/" character

Dmitri Trofimov · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I noticed that the "/" character is used as a separator if one wants to specify multiple networks. Can it be done so that double-division sign is treated like a single division sign but as part of SSID?

Notification Leds not recognised in "Alert, Set Light" Action in Android 8.1

Nick Maverick · 3 · Last reply by Nick Maverick

I tried to create a task where when I started "Car Mode", I would also light permanently the notification led in Blue color, so when driving I can check quickly if car mode is on and turn it off when car mode is off.

In Android 6.0 the action "Alert, Set Light" shows the detected available notification leds and I can use the action successfully, but in Android 8.1 (my new smartphone) the action was disabled, so I updated to the last tasker version and tried again.  The option became available, but there was no notification leds detected, so I could

Tasker UI language not applied everytime on Android Oreo 8.1

virtual · 1 · Last reply by virtual

When running Tasker on Android 8.1 I noticed that there's a small bug that doesn't always display the UI in the language selected in the Preferences.

I set up English as Tasker language and my Android is in Italian. The change in the UI happens sometimes when resuming the activity and I'm able to reproduce it, see my attached video record.

Open Tasker in Oreo, push the multitasking, rotate the screen back and forth, return to Tasker and you'll get some parts of the UI in the OS language.

It happens on other apps, too; I think it is related

Unable to Import settings from file xml

    Salvo Parisi · 0 · Posted

Using a Phone (call it phone1) i've created some settings. I've exported them to a xml file. I copied this xml to another phone (call it phone2) where Tasker is installed. But in the Tasker's settings (of phone2) I can't find the option Import from file (only from Google Drive). In order to enable the option "load from local file" (in phone2) i've to export dummy data! After the "fake" export the option "load form file" has become visible.

XMLHttpRequest() and fetch() in Javascript(let) returns nothing sometimes

Jason Lim · 3 · Last reply by Jason Lim

I would first like to acknowledge that I might be getting something absolutely wrong here.

The code below will have the following results in chrome (accounted for CORS):

    • results[0-8].fetch = "..." // contains something
    • results[0-8].xhttp = "..."

but will have the following results in Tasker:

    Few things to note:

    • An observation will be that something is only returned if the URL doesn't end with "html" or a sever directory.
    • The results here are the same with a POST request too.
    • I currently have no workaround other
