Can't control volume when Tasker is not foreground in Android 12

Jay Keeley · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I have a tasker script that stores the current media volume into a variable and drops the media volume to 0 when I launch specific apps, and when I exit those apps restores the media volume to its previous value.

On Android 11 this ran no problem, but my Oneplus 8 was updated to Android 12 this week and now this script no longer works. If I have tasker open and run the script, it runs no problem, but when I launch the other apps the volume change doesn't work. The script still runs and I still get pop-ups, but

Display timeout issue on oneplus's oxygenos 12

Nadav Rosenberg · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hi,

Last week my phone (oneplus 8t) was updated to oxygenos 12 (based on Android 12) and two of my most used profiles stopped working.

The first issue was with media volume control but I found a solution here and now I am using accesability volume and it solved the problem.

The second issue is with display timeout. I have a quick toggle that toggles between a 10 minutes TO and a 1 minute TO. After the update, the toggle stopped working. I did some testing and find out that Tasker can control the display timeout only if it is

Tasker with Autonotification on EMUI 12

Andreas Krechel · 2 · Last reply by Paul Manning

    Hi.

I'm using Tasker and Autonotification quite a while now and I love it.

This week I got the EMUI 12 (still Android 10) update on my Huawei Mate 20 pro.

Now all profiles that are using Autonotification are not working anymore.

My guess is that is because Huawei changed the notification panel. There is now a seperate panel for notifications and quick settings. It seems that Autonotification no longer can read the notifications.

Is this a known issue? Is there a work around?

    Thanks.

Location-based profile don't get active immedaitly after "Get Location v2" run

JasMan · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

Hey, Not sure if this is an issue or just how Tasker works.

I'm have a profile which triggers a location update by using "Get Location v2" when I left my car. My thougt was, that this will activated my location-based profiles when I'm in the covered area without waiting for the next "Display Off" monitoring cylus of Tasker.

The "Get Location v2" run successfully, and the GPS coordinates are correct. But it takes another monitoring cyclus until the location-based profile gets active.

I added the display "Turn On" action to the location update task in hope, that this will

    Undocumented delay during sleep mode

David Spector · 2 · Last reply by João Dias

I'm a beginner. My device is TCL A3 and is sold by Tracfone. It runs Android 11.

When I write a set of Profiles and Tasks to manage my screen power automatically, it works fine when rotating the device quickly. But when I leave the display in Off/Lock/Sleep mode for more than just a few seconds, the device stays off after I rotate the device (to turn it on) for 2 minutes 3 seconds.

After trying many option changes, I discovered that turning system Do Not Disturb mode Off fixes the problem.

This is not documented anywhere that I can

Problem running tasks from Google Assistant

Dan Muller · 5 · Last reply by Xavier Care

In my car, with the phone connected via Bluetooth, I can open Google Assistant by pressing the steering wheel button. I can then say, "Run <task name> with Tasker" and it will work, but only if the phone screen is on. If the screen is off, GA responds with, "Sorry, I didn't understand that".

I believe this to be an issue with Tasker (rather than GA) because, under the same conditions, I can run other apps with no problem. Tasker is the only one that fails this way. Thus, it's a failure unique to the GA/Tasker integration.

    Some important information:

My phone does not allow incoming calls while tasker is running

CHRIS BALSOM · 2 · Last reply by João Dias

Just recently I was getting calls announced by Tasker but then it would immediately end call. I spent 2 days with my network provider thinking it was the phone. I tried my sim in a new phone and had no issues.

So I factory reset my phone and once everthing was reloaded without any permissions being given, it worked. Gave tasker the requested permissions and it faulted again. So I did some problem solving and factory reset again. Then loaded app by app back on to the phone. testing after each install.

This is how I discovered that if I

App Factory (kid apps) crash/killed on Android 12

    Tasker user 434 · 2 · Last reply by Tasker user 434

On Android 11, works fine.  On Android 12, works fine until a day or so later, when the notification is gone and the profile won't trigger.

Using tasker and app factory 5.12.0, target Android version 26, basic permission set like LOCATION, NETWORK, WAKE LOCK, EXTERNAL STORAGE, etc. When installed it asks for location and storage permissions, and Display over Other Apps, which I grant.  I also disabled battery optimization.

The Profile conditions only check for Display On, GPS On, and WiFi connected.

I know Android 12 has issues with killing phantom processes described here, but I've tried the fix using
