feedback for low rating on play store, as requested.

I tried to update info into my comment, but it's limited by char count.

So here some more.

1. I was welcomed by several 404(documentation does not exist) into application (samsumng galaxy a50). not a good sign at all.

2. I'm a devel so I can somehow figure out in my head what I'd like to do, but there is no clear way in HOW, in tasker. Using automate with diagrams is super easy, using tasker superhard. Not because of task itself, but because of insanely hard way to navigate around. I gave an example: I created profile: if battery is higher than and cable plugged. side note: I had to google or was it youtube? how to create boolean expression. (not cool ui, if you need to google how to use it). But great. Now I created task to play sound. Easy! I triggered it by charging phone, sound plays indefinitely. Not good. So I went to tasks and start looking around for a way to stop it. Down below is play button — now it plays twice. There is also fast forward button: yeah, clicking that clicks play instead, so now it plays 3 times. Another googling shows, IIRC, some task console. So I see that there are running tasks, I can filter them, I can edit them, but I cannot stop them. Anyhow. No tutorial online, no explanation. No long click works, not context hints/actions, no relevant help. So I had to reboot. I gave it a try again, + next googling, next reboot. And should I have to google EVERY action, even such trivial one like stopping task? If there is play button, shouldn't there be stop button? If there is list of running tasks, shouldn't I be able to call a terminate action?

I'm able to complete the same task without any googling in automate within few minutes. It's not about graphics, it's about insufficient clarity of UI. There are icons, which just cannot be understood, without going into some graphic library for explanation. There are icons, which click different icons instead. Somewhere there are no icons, and you need to hold something, while there is not clue, that there is a valid reason to do so. It definitely resembles adventure named gobliins, where on second screen player has to touch mermaid tits. I was stuck there as I 8y old for days: "why should anyone touch some women tits???"

So I'm not saying the app is bad. The effort which went into it must have been brutal. It's just not usable. The point is to save time for not doing repetitive tasks. The solution: "spent several days in manual and then try to do it in most cryptic way imaginable" might actually work, but it's really impractical.

Hi. Thanks for your report.

The issue you're describing is actually unique to the action you used. It seems you had some bad luck with the first action you chose to use.

Indeed, when you play the task in Tasker, it starts playing a sound, but then the task is done. There's no task continuing to run in the background, it's just the sound that keeps playing.

So, to start playing a sound you use the "Music Play" action, then to stop playing a sound you use the "Music Stop" action.

Other actions that don't produce a continuous state like that will do what they need to do and be done with it. For example, the action to change the volume will run right away and be over.

Sorry if not everything makes that much sense. Something to understand is that Tasker has been around for a long time (I'm not even Tasker's original developer) and has a lot of legacy.

For example, if the Music Play action's behaviour were to be changed now, a lot of people's setups would break.

All those other automation apps had the advantage of being able to look at Tasker as an example and build on top of that.

Hope this makes sense.
