Received Text profile does not recognize an associated e-mail when text is sent via SMTP...

So let me summarize the issue I'm having.

I receive a text message when I have been assigned a help desk ticket from work, but this text is sent to me from a server as a SMTP message.
(Example: 8435361234@@text.republicwireless.com will send a text to me)..
I have a task I would like to execute when I receive a text notifying me of a ticket, but Tasker won't see an incoming text if sent via SMTP?

Let's say the 'sender' is example@work.com. If I add this e-mail address to an existing contact, the profile fails to trigger any event. If I attempt to select a Contact on my phone that ONLY has the sending e-mail address attached, Tasker generates an error.

I have tried creating a contact on my phone that ONLY contains the email address of the sender, but Tasker will not allow me to select the contact. An error occurs, which reads 'Unable to add'.

Things I've tried as a work-around:
- I have tried to trigger the profile by the contents of the sent message, but Tasker doesn't 'see' the received text (or its contents) this way either.

- I've tried to just manually type the sending e-mail address into Tasker's 'Sender' field (it let's me 'SAVE' it), but also fails to fire.

- I've made sure the Type is set to 'Any', but I've also tried setting it as SMS and MMS.

There may already be a solution to this (if there is I'm sorry!), but I have been unable to find an answer...

Thank you so much for your outstanding application!

- Will

Hi there. Received Text is only for SMS :) Maybe it should be renamed.

What you can try is maybe use the Notification event? Does that work for you?
