"Add to Home screen" for tasks

I use the KISS launcher which is a minimalistic take on launchers. No icons on the page except a bottom row of "favourites", and a search bar that searches installed apps, contacts, settings, etc.

When using browser apps I can select "Add to Home screen" and that website is added as a "Desktop shortcut" which makes it available in the launcher search results.

It would be great to have Tasker add tasks to the Home screen in this fashion!

Widgets, btw, are not a good fit as the widget support is minimal (can add only one at a time, it takes up screen space and does not appear on search results).

I currently use the app factory as a workaround but it is cumbersome as every change requires building and installing the app and the app also requires permissions separately from Tasker.

I ran into the same issue and had to use Sesame Shortcuts as a work around.

I will try to explain the difference. When using Sesame to add the shortcuts to Tasker's tasks onto KISS home screen, only access to the shortcuts get added to KISS' built-in search. No widget or icon will appear on KISS home screen and this works well when adding 10, 20 shortcuts. Ideally a user should only need Tasker and KISS but needed a third party app, Sesame, which is very similar in function to KISS.

Hopefully something can be done as both Tasker and KISS are incredible products and together become very convenient and powerful.

Amit wants to be able to add the shortcut from the Tasker side rather than from the launcher side, apparently because KISS Launcher doesn't let you actually add shortcuts (shortcuts added by other apps are used in search results, but don't appear on the home screen).

That is indeed the case. Thanks for helping me explain it!

Sorry, I'm not sure how that would be better than the Tasker Shortcut shortcut that you can add to the home screen. Can you clarify?
