Display Cutout managed by Tasker

Android Pie supports notches, with that said it has special apps for handling notched displays. It would be useful if Tasker could activate any one of those apps and based upon the app is launched, turn on an overlay. Like maybe, I wanted as much screen as possible on Google Duo, Tasker would switch to the default notch setting. Then I could want to watch YouTube, Tasker would switch to the hide option giving me a uniform experience.

Did you try using the Custom Setting action to configure that? :)

MI

No, I did not. Just a question, how would I accomplish this, I am not too prolific with this application?

XS

Tasks - plus sign - name it - plus sign for aciton - settings - custom setting - name - magnifying glass - Find - OK - [change the display cutoff at will] - magniying glass - choose the logical option if found. There you have it.

If it is toggle you can decide if you want it "on" - "off" or "toggle".

Sadly, this does not work. Tasker doesn't detect any change :(

Add a Custom Setting action and then use the magnifying glass helper to automatically find your setting :)

Unfortunately, Custom Settings doesn't detect any changes. Anything else we can try?

I'm on a Pixel 3 XL. Changing the Display cutout setting while Custom Settings is 'listening' doesn't seem to work.

Unfortunately that means that it's not something Tasker can change, sorry!

Dang. Thanks for the reply!
