Regarding the "Notify" action...

Hi, thanks for all you do. I LOVE Tasker! Regarding the "Notify" action, would it be possible to change the parameters of the action so that a variable itself can be shown in the notification panel, rather than just an icon which then has to be dragged down to see the variables's text? In my case, I'm trying to create a simple app to show the current local temperature (itself) in the notification panel. Thanks again, Alan R

Hi! Glad you like Tasker! :) For that you can use scenes! Check here: https://joaoapps.com/tasker-5-14-scenes-screen-recording-public-taskernet-shares-and-more/

Really?  I thought scenes didn't/wouldn't cover the notification panel which is where I want to place my image/text.

If you check the video/release notes you'll see that that was what was added in the release I linked to :)

Ok, ty.  Sorry, in the response where you said done, I thought you added the ability to post a variable AS an icon in the notify action.   I'll check the scenes now...

After trying scenes and other workarounds successfully, I'm still not as content as I'd be of you could include "choose from local media" in the icon choice list in the Notify action.  Would this be possible?

But that wouldn't allow you to show text on the notification bar like you wanted to, right?

I could If I pre-saved images of every number up to about 130 or so (for temperatures) OR if we could use local media and/or variables as Notify icons 😊   Pretty please...

Again, sincerely appreciate all you do, especially accepting feedback and suggestions from your users.

Thanks,  Alan

Ok, I'll reopen this then 😅 Thanks!
