Ability to run the build in VPN from tasker

I have been a Tasker user since I remember.  I'm happy to see more features being added almost daily, unfortunately one feature that is missing is able to start the build in VPN.  Can you please add it to the next release?

I second the request, the feature would be very useful

I would also appreciate to have this.

My Fritzbox does not support OpenVpn, thererfore stuck with the builtin VPN configs.

What i have to to do connect:

Settings > Connections > More Connections Settings > VPN > MyVpnConnection

To do this manually everytime is quite tedious.

e.G. Automatically connect to VPN Only WiFi at work and enable the VPN Connection after that to save mobile data. Would be just one use case (amongst enabling it when connecting to other WiFi networks as well)

You are the best, you are correct, need to start the VPN session via Tasker. As an FYI, there are several similar requests for this feature in Tasker.

Thank you

From settings, connections, more connection settings, VPN.

Thanks

Oh I see thanks. So you simply wanted to enable an existing VPN right? I'm not sure if Android allows third-party apps to do that but if this gets enough traction I'll check, thanks.

Thank you for your fast reply, appreciated.  Sorry maybe I was not clearer on what I'm trying to archive.   I'm trying to connect to my router via L2TP/IPsec PSK via a built in VPN from Android.  Currently I need to select VPN, run it, accept my saved credentials and then it will connect. As you can see, there are several steps that I could skip if your excelent plugin would support it.  I tried your suggestion, it created a VPN icon but there are no settings to add L2TP.  Not sure how you would use it.

Oh, I see. Where do you select that VPN when you do it manually?

The VPN is only used to block network access for third party apps. Try using the Network Access action.
