I recently updated the Tasker app, and since then, I've encountered a problem. When I open the app, it prompts me to watch a video about the new features, but the app freezes at this point. Shortly after, a system error window appears.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue? If a reinstallation is necessary, could you also guide me on how to back up my data without accessing the app, as it currently doesn't allow me to do so?

Hi Joao,

I am currently importing and exporting my projects to different mobile devices. However, each time I do this, if the project shares tasks or uses profiles from another project, they get mixed up upon import. This makes it difficult for me to determine which tasks and profiles belong to which project.

Is there a way to optimize this process so that tasks, profiles, etc., do not get mixed up and remain within their respective projects?

Since version 6.3.12 it's not possible to run a task by shake action if the screen is locked. You always have to unlock the screen to make these action work.

Till the last update it has never been an issue.

From the 31st of August 2024 Google requires that all new apps have API 34 (Android 14) as target level in order to be submitted to Google Play. Today the Tasker App Factory doesn't support higher levels than 29. Will we see App Factory support for level 34 by then? 

I'm trying to convert a curl shell command into an HTTP action put can't get it to work. I need a solution to this because the target system is Android 8 which doesn't include the curl shell command.

Shell command:

Can you provide a feature to hide project/profiles or passwore-lock project/profiles for habits control and for parental control?

I have a samsung s22 ultra with android 14. When the scrren is on the time event triggers as it should but when its off it does not trigger. I have set battery unrestricted for tasker and set use reliable alarm always. I see that tasker does not request premission for alarms and reminders maybe that the issue?

Not sure what's changed but any time I put my phone in airplane mode now I eventually get the following error stating 'Trial Over'. Once I'm back into service it seems to be normal. 

Another day, another feature taken away by Google (seriously, what have they been up to lately?).

As you're all well aware by now, Android 14 made "permanent" notifications dismissible now, breaking many apps along the way – including our dear Tasker, most notably. I've been missing the old notification's functionality ever since the update but apparently there's a rather easy fix for this,  at least in theory.

We can somewhat bring back most of the old functionality back by automatically showing any permanent Tasker notifications as soon as they're dismissed. This is probably easier said than done as every Tasker

• Problems

1. AutoLocation Geofences cannot be defined, no map shows up, and the error message is `AutoLocation won't run without Google Play services, which are not supported by your device.`
2. No location can be searched either. Note that the `Location` profile (in Tasker directly) works despite the map not working, by manually typing GPS coordinates.

My phone runs GrapheneOS without MicroG or Google Play Services, and I have installed the Direct Purchase version of Tasker and AutoLocation.

I want to be able to add the most recent episode of a podcast that I like to a Spotify playlist just like how you add tracks. I mainly thought of this idea after listening to the Daily Drive playlist on Spotify and hating the news sources that they would use.

Hello, the font size of a slider value in a tasker scene is so small that I need to use my glasses (+1.5) on every eye to adjust the slider value. How can the fontsize of the slider value can be made bigger & readable?

The state "Variable Value" still lights up green when I clear the variable and applies as true the next time I run the task when it should be false without any value. The problem also seems to be related to pattern matching while clearing multiple variables in one Variable Clear Action e.g. %TestVar/%TestVar1

Another user has confirmed the same bug on different android device.
