"Allow Phone Access" in WebView will not stay checked

This problem is posted on Reddit by u/IVIichaelGScott a while back but he did not get around to posting it here. I am therefore posting it here since I am having the same problem.

Whenever I check "Allow Phone Access" and then back out of the screen, it un-checks itself. I have a stock T-Mobile Galaxy Note 9 on Android 8.1. Any ideas?

This problem only happens if URI mode is selected in the webview options.

I have a mi9 running AOSP ROM and android 9.

This was not fixed completely.

On latest Tasker 6.2.15-RC the issue remains.

Seconding this fact, and giving a potential workaround since it's still not fully fixed! I have the same issue, and recently found that if I select the "Allow Phone Access" option and leave using ONLY the back buttons in the top left of tasker itself (instead of the OS's one) it'll work exactly as intended...until re-entering the scene editor, at which point it'll turn off again and need re-doing.

Note that your webviews will still be all like  "enable javascript plz" in the scene editor but if you run a show scene action it should function! As scuffed as it is, I've found that it's consistent. (Tested on Samsung devices running Android 11)
