Wifi connect doesn't work

Brand new install of Tasker on a Fairphone 6 running /e/OS version 3.0.2 (Android 15).

I created a dead simple task to connect to a specific wifi network, but it fails. I get an error notification prompting me to email the dev ("Can't connect to wifi - Please click here to contact the developer about this issue") . I did a fair bit of research, but everything I saw about wifi not working was a few years old.

I had things working fine on my Fairphone 5 running /e/OS version 2.9 (Android 13) so I'm guessing it's something about the Android version update, but that's just a guess.

Help?
