    Terminal Emulator In Tasker

    Bruno Davi · 0 · Posted

Serious optimum if the task had this letter on the sleeve with this clearly the taste of liberty of many limitations when performing more complex actions, I know that has the Run Shell action, but if the task had an emulator similar to the Termless without using any plugin and still to create the APK guard everything and the one. Despite that I know that and a very difficult idea to take this here this idea.

Support "wind down" mode in pie

In general I prefer to have the wind down mode (monochrome display) enabled. While driving I would like to be able to disable this mode temporarily (similar to night light).

    Nested state contexts

    4pda.ru · 0 · Posted

Tasker supports grouping of states in profiles from the beginning. The enter task starts when all states become active, the exit task starts when one of the states become inactive.

The notion of nested contexts proposed here changes the behaviour of the exit task only. Namely, contexts in a profile are ordered, there are broad contexts and narrow contexts, the exit task starts if a narrow context becomes inactive while all broad contexts are still active.

For example let's consider simple profile

    profile HomeAtNight

broad state Time from 22:00 to 6:00

        narrow state WIFI Connected HomeAP

            enter task

Data->Restore->User Local Backup should always be available as an option

    Brett · 0 · Posted

A common use case for this request: 0) Freshly wiped device  1) Install and Launch Tasker  2) Try to restore recently downloaded local .xml backup file by navigating to Data->Restore Current implementation of the restore/backup feature is poorly designed as it is blocking this likely common use case. At least one other report of this "Feature" request was found: https://tasker.helprace.com/i356-manual-backup-only-creates-local-backup-and-restore-only-restores-from-cloud Original "Bug" Documentation: https://tasker.helprace.com/i462-tasker-bug-data-restore-user-local-backup-didn-t-appear-until-i-navigated-to-data-backup

Tasker UI language not applied everytime on Android Oreo 8.1

virtual · 1 · Last reply by virtual

When running Tasker on Android 8.1 I noticed that there's a small bug that doesn't always display the UI in the language selected in the Preferences.

I set up English as Tasker language and my Android is in Italian. The change in the UI happens sometimes when resuming the activity and I'm able to reproduce it, see my attached video record.

Open Tasker in Oreo, push the multitasking, rotate the screen back and forth, return to Tasker and you'll get some parts of the UI in the OS language.

It happens on other apps, too; I think it is related

Offer 'Android-System' as owner application of Notification events

The context for the notification event does not offer 'Android-System' as owner application. Is it possible to make it available?

    Hotspot related contexts

Hotspot related contexts like notify if someone connects to my hotspot, block someone(disconnect as soon as someone connects), these are some great additions for a hotspot context in tasker.

    Steganography Feature for Image

    Ian Grody · 0 · Posted

I have been trying to muck about with this myself for fun and had some success using Java tutorials online. However, it would really awesome if Tasker has Steganography features under the Image action feature, both encode and decode. Not only could images be embedded with data, but scanned for potential hidden text.

    Color activation while tasks running

    insaned · 0 · Posted

Would be useful to have color when a task is running (like the profiles have when active) as sometimes is handy to verify if tasks is running, particularly when inadverted infinite loops are create. Ofc if it's not resource heavy, even if only when tasker gui is open or as optional in settings.

Support VoLTE on mobile network state

    Caio Lima Netto · 0 · Posted

Currently, when the cell towers switch to VoLTE, they often disconnect other call radios (3G/4G). As such, tasks monitoring if I am connected will fail since network state does not support VoLTE.

Is it possible to add detection for it and thus a checkbox for VoLTE on state too?

Notification Leds not recognised in "Alert, Set Light" Action in Android 8.1

Nick Maverick · 3 · Last reply by Nick Maverick

I tried to create a task where when I started "Car Mode", I would also light permanently the notification led in Blue color, so when driving I can check quickly if car mode is on and turn it off when car mode is off.

In Android 6.0 the action "Alert, Set Light" shows the detected available notification leds and I can use the action successfully, but in Android 8.1 (my new smartphone) the action was disabled, so I updated to the last tasker version and tried again.  The option became available, but there was no notification leds detected, so I could

Wifi Near does not properly detect a Wi-Fi network with "/" character

Dmitri Trofimov · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I noticed that the "/" character is used as a separator if one wants to specify multiple networks. Can it be done so that double-division sign is treated like a single division sign but as part of SSID?

Profile with on Variable Set gets falsely triggered

Stefan · 3 · Last reply by João Dias

    Here are the relevant profiles:

The first profile detects via WIFI near if you are at a hotel and if so sets the variable Ort to 'Hotel'.

The second profile should trigger only when the variable Ort is set to 'Hotel'. However it seems to trigger without a reason (Hotel WiFi is not close because being at home or at work). This happens only a few times a day. I've attaced a filtered run log and the relevant part of the run log unfiltered as well.

Better Links in Error Message Popup

Stefan · 1 · Last reply by Stefan

After activating the option in settings to show error message popups these are not very helpful. For example a popup tells me multiple times that a plugin is missing but I can't identify which one is not available. There are just numbers with links in the popup but clicking on the links make them show up in the dialer instead of leading to the profile or task with the problem.

Add variable and context for battery temperature

Stefan · 1 · Last reply by Stefan

It would be nice to have a context and a variable for battery temperature. This could be used for warning the user on high battery temperature and also take appropriate actions (reduce brightness, activate powersave mode, etc. )

    "Tasker isn't Responding" (v. 5.6 on Oreo)

Viale · 3 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hello João,

I have been enjoyed a paid version of Tasker for years and recently subscribed to your AutoApps. However, in the last few weeks, Tasker is often freezing. Also, profiles that previously worked are suddenly freezing (see screenshot for examples of both). I have been using Tasker on Oreo (Samsung Galaxy S8+, v. 5.2) for almost a year, so this can't be the source of the problem. When the problem appeared, I verified that Tasker is excluded from battery optimization. I also reinstalled and then upgraded to v. 5.6, but the problem persists.

    1. Can you guess what

    More VPN tools

    Ralph · 0 · Posted

The current VPN tools that Tasker supports is the firewall namely "Network Access". This tool is only limited to blocking and allowing apps to connect to the internet. There are a lot of features that can be added like Custom Filter by "NoRoot Firewall", a feature that can deny or allow certain IP's of a certain app for internet access. "HTTP Injector" that has a Custom DNS feature. These apps uses VPN for their features to work and I believe that the Tasker can make it too.

Cell tower based profile switching on Android Pie

    S n · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

It seems, that detecting cell towers isn't possible in Android Pi anymore, when location services are disabled. According to the answer at https://tasker.helprace.com/i301-cell-near-does-not-work-in-android-9 i must enable location services all the time, wo get this working. Its also stated, that this does not use GPS. But isn't it in this case more accurate to switch to location based switching, instead of only cell tower? To my understanding, this would switch the profile in a radius of for example 300 meters around my position. But isnt this using more battery power? Or is turning on location services not using my battery at all, instead
