tasker  detected dtmf tone  on line  and and performs an action depending on the DTMF code

I would like to have the possibility to turn off some profiles for a specific amount of time (just because sometimes I don't remember to switch them on again).

That could be done maybe by long pressing on the switch while it is ON:

and a Calendar date/time picker would popup to ask when to reactivate the profile.

Use case: I have some profiles that automatically save the exit time from work and during holidays I won't need those features. Yes, I could add a variable to each of the profiles, but as this is only a temporary problem, maybe

Requesting that Device care, found at Settings -> scrolling down to Device care, be added to the list of Settings Tasker can quickly call up (in addition to Internal Storage Settings, Memory Card Settings, etc.)

While it would be ideal if my tinkering with profiles, tasks, and scenes always led to me cleaning up what I don't eventually use - the reality is that a lot of garbage piles up. It would be nice to search across all projects and:

1. Find what relates to only profiles that are disabled, such that it can aid in clean up (right now, you can see disabled in each project, but not easily tell all the tasks, scenes, and variables that could be deleted to clean those out),
2. and when searching for something you know is enabled, only find

With Variable Search/Replace you can store the results in another variable. What I wish to be able to do is to search an Array, and store the duplicates in another Array

Basically have some way to remove duplicates across multiple arrays.

Any thoughts of making a plugin for Raspberry pi interface?  It would be convenient to start or stop a python file remotely, or interrogate the pi for a variable value. 

It would be like creating a role in Java, but to perform custom actions with Tasker design with elements generally used when creating Tasker actions doing almost as Perform Task only with more customizations.

In the scene element, have a way to make the Landscape dimensions default to the same as Portrait. Currently, it is not allowing me to erase the values and leave it blank. It is time consuming to through hundreds of elements to input the W x H, for each scene AND each element. 

I was hoping to use taskernet to share some of my recent Tasker work but I can't because it uses a lot of AutoRemote. When I export my shares to XML and take a look at them it appears the AutoRemote Send Message steps include my unique IFTTT Webhooks identifier as well as the password I use for my messages. And as far as I can tell there's no way to use a variable for those particular data points so that info could be moved out of the action data and into variables (which aren't part of the share). Can

.I was wondering if it is possible to add a section in profiles (application) in order to select all apps of a certain type of apps the type may be news ,tools,maps,photograghy,puzzles ,… etc.

This is useful to make profiles such as one to enable wifi if a news app is opened or to enable silent mode if a certain type of apps is opened like games.etc,. 

By now, we can't interact with scenes placed on the lockscreen, because they are in overlay mode. But other applications, like Floatify for example, are able to display informations on the lockscreen, and allow the user to interact with it without unlocking the smartphone (like answer to a sms). Why is that feature not available in Tasker if it is possible in other apps?

I have Tasker 5.1 on my phone. When I check for updates, nothing happens. When I download the APK from the website and run it, I get an error "App not installed". HELP!!!

When creating a task that calls itself, pressing stop will become non functional after the first loop (pressing it will do nothing).

Going to homescreen and back to the app will allow the task to be stopped

bassicaly im trying to get tasker to detect the notification from one of my app and to perform a task to play media. 

My idea is once my door is open, my door sensor triggers and send a notification to my tablet. once tasker reads the notification about door sensor it must play a voice recorded. 

i have successfully uploaded my media play in task tab but my profile is not detecting the notification from my smart app in order to play

Would be great if tasker had the ability to launch apps in pop up view. Not sure if it would be possible but I do know that there is a "multi window" edge pannel for Samsung that can do this. Would be an extremely helpful feature for certain situations. 

It's great to have the red badges show the new actions after an update. But they go away after you open them to look at the capabilities. 

It would be great to have an option to highlight the new actions based on a user selected version number. It would be most helpful if the user could make that selection as an option in the display.

I need to record audio in Wav format (or another uncompressed format) without using external apps which can interface with Tasker.

I know we're talking about smartphones and not professional equipment, but for the same device, by recording Wav files with external app plugin, I get a much higher quality sound than Tasker. On the other hand, Tasker offers better control over recordings, file management, and does not require tricks with time delays to make sure the recording is saved.

Using a Phone (call it phone1) i've created some settings. I've exported them to a xml file. I copied this xml to another phone (call it phone2) where Tasker is installed. But in the Tasker's settings (of phone2) I can't find the option Import from file (only from Google Drive). In order to enable the option "load from local file" (in phone2) i've to export dummy data! After the "fake" export the option "load form file" has become visible.
