I don't mind sideloading etc, but the main issue is being able to access the full layout of Tasker. Currently the search button and 3-vertical-dots menu at top right corner do not show up on my TV (Sony running android 8). I tested latest released 5.7.2 and 5.8.0 beta 5. 

Is Tasker somehow compatible with some Android 8 TVs and not others?

Would it be possible to make the project bar along the bottom of the main Tasker interface larger (specifically, taller)? I'm finding that with full gesture navigation with the betas for Android Q, swiping sideways along the bottom of the screen switches between recent apps, and scrolling the project bar is really difficult (there are maybe a few pixels at the top of it that I can grab, but it's really tricky). Maybe there's another way to do it that I'm not aware of.

So we can preset the selected items. 

The value set should be a string with the same syntax as that returned by Element Test, i.e. the selected items name separated by comma.

I was hoping to use this feature to lock out Tasker for X period from any use by generating a random PIN, then reverting it back to a known one after a period (toggle Task style).

However, the Set Preference > Lock Code causes the PIN to be reset despite it's value, thus disabling the lock.

Across multiple phones and Tasker versions, I have never found shake and gestures usable - either the false positive or false negative rate is much too high or it simply triggers the action when I'm positive it couldn't possibly have been performed.

One consistent bug I have noticed is that shake actions trigger when I pick the phone up off my desk after it's been motionless for a while. Sometimes when performing a gesture, the action starts triggering over and over again as if an infinite loop, as if some flag that should tell Tasker that the action was

If tasker can host a small webserver which can host any local html files, we can expose lot of features such as toggles, scenes etc to the outside network and can create lot of cool use cases.

The important note: Some exported apps works successfully without Tasker if the screen of the phone is on (surely if it can work when screen is on in Tasker before exporting).

Explanation1: Recently I have created a project. The aim of it is to open the flashlight without need to unlock the phone. Just by gestures. The project works successfully in Tasker. But after I'd exported it as an app and disabling Tasker. The app doesn't work.

I created an "app" in a form of a scene, I run in as Tasker shortcut. There are many elements, each can run multiple tasks depending the context and the action (tap, long tap etc.). Creating it was one of the more difficult projects I created in Tasker for the following reasons: For every edit I need to do multiple steps in order to test and debug (i.e.

1. hit back numerous times to get out of scene editor
2. start scene - usually dedicated tasks with at least "show scene" action
3. operate the element
4. destroy/hide the scene
5. show run log
6. identify

I am reporting a situation where takser looks to be in a hung state.

First my setup and environment:

- Kindle fire HD 8 7th Gen Tablet, with google play installed.

- Latest tasker version.

Though this issue is not profile related(because the profile works on the same device 99% of the times and other devices too, and been using it since 2 years) but relates to takser/tasker service in general.
