    Chop Gesture

I'd like a "chop" gesture, like the double-chop gesture Motorola uses for toggling the torch.  Similar to the action you would use with a small hatchet, or bouncing a hammer off the head of a nail.  Each "chop" is a short, abrupt, single shake down and back up.

The gesture should have settings for:

    1. Sensitivity (how aggressive and/or fast the chop must be)

    2. Number of "chops".

The current "shake left to right" gesture doesn't work as a good replacement.

Issue with "Setup Quick Settings" on Android 10 when "Do Not Disturb" is enabled

lucatrv · 1 · Last reply by lucatrv

I use the Tasker "Toggle Quick Setting" to enable / disable vibrate mode. It was working without issues on Android 9. On Android 10 it works correctly only when "Do Not Disturb" is disabled. When it is enabled I get the following behavior: with a single tap I can enable "vibrate mode" with no issues (I set the "Toggle" status to "Active"), but when I tap it again most of the time it does not work. I need to tap it several times until the task is run ("vibrate mode" is disabled, and the "Toggle" status set to "Inactive"). Every

Support mp4 videos in the Set Wallpaper action

    Jason Fournier · 0 · Posted

Tasker currently only supports png and jpg image files in the Set Wallpaper action. Most modern phones now support live wallpapers, which are often .mp4 videos up to 15 seconds long.

It would be nice to be able to support these .mp4 videos in the Set Wallpaper action.

Wifi and Bluetooth names end in a space

    Stavros · 0 · Posted

For some reason, wifi and Bluetooth names on my phone (Xiaomi 9T) end with a space, making them not match, since I remove the space. It took me a while to realize what was happening, even though I was using the scanning feature. The scanner was adding the space but I was removing it, thinking the addition was accidental, and then was wondering why the network name never matched.

I guess the extra space should be fixed, or maybe ignored? This happens for all networks, and I know they definitely don't all end in a space.

"Allow Phone Access" in WebView will not stay checked

    Hjw6213 · 1 · Last reply by the squimbly

This problem is posted on Reddit by u/IVIichaelGScott a while back but he did not get around to posting it here. I am therefore posting it here since I am having the same problem.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/comments/9hl84r/allow_phone_access_in_webview_will_not_stay/

https://i.imgur.com/6HEHOda.jpg Whenever I check "Allow Phone Access" and then back out of the screen, it un-checks itself. I have a stock T-Mobile Galaxy Note 9 on Android 8.1. Any ideas?

This problem only happens if URI mode is selected in the webview options.

I have a mi9 running AOSP ROM and android 9.

The zip action doesn't keep timestamps intact

    Abi · 0 · Posted

So, right now, when you zip a folder with Tasker, all the files get their "last modified" date changed to when they were zipped. Could we get an option to keep the timestamps of the files intact instead?

    %LIGHT returns %LIGHT (the string)

Lionel Bompart · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hello !

I wanted to create a task on an HP Touchpad running Android 4.4.4 (CM by jcsullins) to deactivate the daydream screensaver if the light is very low. The setting can be modified with secure settings plugin, that's great but I've got some issue trying to get the light sensor current value. When I try to display %LIGHT (in a flash for instance), it just displays %LIGHT. I tried several other variables, the flash shows their value properly. Is there something special to do to access %LIGHT ? I tried Automate just to check : It seems that the

Library to support designing profiles in Python for programmers

    csibesz07 . · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hi,

    Ideas:

    • an easy to use library that supports designing custom automation logic in some programming language that will run in (indirectly) or on top (directly) of Tasker
    • Indirectly (main idea): using the Tasker's backup system, a support library and custom logic written in Python, should be able to output an XML that contains tasks and profiles
    • Directly: same as methods under Code action but more robust, (probably using indirect technique to inject script into action)

I imagine that my whole tasker environment could be simplified to a Python project thats easier to understand, debug, maintain, comment, share and most

    Autoimport Projects and Profiles

raddacle · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

While there is an import action to tasks and entire configurations, there is no way to import profiles or projects. Being able to autoimport profiles and projects would allow us to keep family member's devices updated through dropbox or google drive syncing/sending.

Option for cooldown time to trigger last skipped event after cooldown time is over

    Stefan · 0 · Posted

An option for cooldown time to trigger the last skipped event (skipped during the cooldown time) after the cooldown time is over would be useful.

E.g. there are many changes of %LIGHT when moving. In a profile reacting on changes to %LIGHT and adding a cooldown time of ten seconds Tasker will probably not trigger the entering of a completely dark area where %LIGHT will not change anymore because it's constantly 0. The above change would allow to use a cooldown time AND to detect the % LIGHT changing to 0.

Separate settings for UI and help language

    bege · 0 · Posted

The German help texts often don't contain all the information the English texts provide, and I guess it will never be possible to keep the translations fully updated. Therefore I'd like to have a German UI and English help texts. Would you, please, provide separate settings for UI and help language?

"Add to Home screen" for tasks

Amit Kotlovski · 3 · Last reply by Gan

I use the KISS launcher which is a minimalistic take on launchers. No icons on the page except a bottom row of "favourites", and a search bar that searches installed apps, contacts, settings, etc. When using browser apps I can select "Add to Home screen" and that website is added as a "Desktop shortcut" which makes it available in the launcher search results. It would be great to have Tasker add tasks to the Home screen in this fashion! Widgets, btw, are not a good fit as the widget support is minimal (can add only one at a time, it takes up

Number picker: old_val not set correctly

    Henrik · 0 · Posted

When using a number picker in a scene, the %old_val is not set correctly, if you roll the number picker and then roll again before it has stopped, the %old_val becomes unset and defaults to - 2147483648 (-2^31).

Ability to choose which camera on the rear to use to take a picture

    That guy · 0 · Posted

I have 3 cameras on the rear of my phone. I'd like to choose which one tasker uses to take photos.  That way I can set my phone up to take different kinds of shots underwater. Also being able to lock the focus to a given distance would be nice as auto doesn't work well under water.

%caller reports incorrect context when the same named task is called by two profiles at the same time

    Dan · 0 · Posted

I've discovered that %caller reports the wrong context when two different contexts with the same priority call the same named task at the same time.

You can reproduce this by creating a named task (I called mine Collision Test), with collision handling set to "Run Both Together" with the following action:

    1. Array Push: %Collision, Position: 1, Value: %caller()

Then call the task "Collision Test" in both the entry and exit tasks of two different contexts that have the same priority:

    • Collision Test 1: State -> Variable Value: %Collision_Test ~ true
    • Collision Test 2: State -> Variable Value: %Collision_Test !~ true
