Functionality included in Tasker to enable mirroring a phone's screen to another phone and/or PC

    Tosin Bashiru · 0 · Posted

Hello! Tasker is so amazing it gives me so much power and control over my Android phone.

Then a thought crossed my mind: "Could Tasker have a feature that enables the mirroring a phone's screen to another phone and/or a PC".

I would be happy if this idea would be considered and super excited if eventually rolls out in future versions...

It will be perfect if it will be possible to move matching rules inside matching pattern.

if I want to push matching rule to beginning position,I need to remove all rules below, and then restore it manually.

FSK audio modem send\recive data on audio line or audio cable

    izhadapter · 0 · Posted

This will make it possible, using an audio channel over the air or through an audio cable, to exchange data with another phone or device, such as an arduino, without using additional purchased bluetooth or WIFI modules and refuse to use radio frequencies.

    BLE broadcast feature

    Thibaut Renard · 0 · Posted

Hello, It would be cool if it was possible to emulate a BLE peripheral to send data like heart rate for example. Possessors of bracelets with heart rate function (such as mi band) would be able to share it with other devices (connected bike home trainer or connected treadmill for example). The code to do this already exists (https://github.com/WebBluetoothCG/ble-test-peripheral-android), and it would be amazing if it was integrated into tasker. Thanks.

    Sound mode doesn't work alone

    Azek · 0 · Posted

On my old ringtone (Samsung J7 2016, Android 9) I had a profile with I turn ringer sound on / off when I was in the meeting. Now I have Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, Android 10 with the same profile, but something is going wrong. It looks like vibrate mode and sound mode doesn't work alone. I checked it. The results are in PDF file. Sound mode and vibrate mode alone do not turn the sound on or off. I had to add both of them to my task. And it still depends on the order. For example, if

    Undo History or something better

    Joeyvanbilsen · 1 · Last reply by Viper21

I would find it very useful to be able to undo several, or certain steps. I saw that a topic has been started about it in the past, but perhaps it does not mean the same as my request.

I have been using Tasker for 10 years, and I don't understand why it is not possible to undo steps or revert to previous states, such as on the computer (i.e. Adobe Photoshop's History panel) as I first saw on the phone with Aviary Studio (which was bought by Adobe eventually).

Sometimes you just want to get back to square one,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with a custom Android 7.1.2. Tasker version 5.9.3 On a Lost Call event, I try to read the %CNAME variable but it contains the number, just like the variable %CNUM, even if the phone number is among contacts. How to solve? Best regards

Local Variable Passthrough & Child Variable Inheritance

Robin Tinsley · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I'm not seeing expected behaviour in 5.9.3 using Local Variable Passthrough and the Child Inheritance.

    As an example;

So the value of %localvar is established in ParentTSK, then shared with SCENE1 when ParentTSK calls it, then shared with ChildTSK when SCENE1 calls it, and updated in SCENE1 via the Local Variable Passthrough.

In practice, the process does not run as expected:

As you can see, once the ChildTSK ends, even though it’s told to update the local variables in the parent task, the value of %localvar returns to its previous state.

This is not expected behaviour, %localvar from ChildTSK should

Tasker deleted my recent configuration changes when I pressed on back up

siegmund freud · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I clicked on backup on google drive and my configuration was actually gone instead of being saved, I did not press the wrong button, it asked me where to save my backup, I didn't choose anything for the local storage, pressed "back" and then pressed "ok" when the prompt to save it on google drive came and I chose the exact drive folder. Couldnt restore it from the backup Maybe it had to do with the following bug: when I use the autoinput app and go on the button "use via tasker" then it loads up a different tasker configuration

    Tasker Notification Unreliable

Tyler McBride · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I created a notification event that will play a song extremely loud so to wake myself up during the night if a certain notification was intercepted from a different app. The problem is that the profile does not always trigger even though a notification appears on the other app. Checking the log also shows that the event was not triggered. Attached are how I've created the profile and task.

If anyone can determine the issue just from my post please let me know else I will provide more information about my device settings, even though I've checked to make sure

    Continue after error doesn't work

Fra DP · 2 · Last reply by João Dias

So, I'm trying to take a picture with Tasker, but I noticed that 90% of the times it doesn't work, for reasons yet unknown.

The biggest issue, tho, is that the "continue task after error" doesn't work. It just stops at all.

    1. Input text to 'ABCDEFG' to Input text area.

    2. touch 'Item 2' ( At this stage, 'ABCDEFG' = %input)

    3. Then works like just List dialog in tasker. but, we can use text variable %input with 'Item 2'

    Bluetooth earphone key event detect

    Jackal Zhao · 0 · Posted

Many of our wireless earphones have buttons to control music. Such as double tapping airpods to pause music.

The bluetooth earphone button does not trigger any key event on android phone, so that autoinput and other events can't capture the button event on bluetooth earphone directly.

So I wish Tasker can add an event to capture the bluetooth earphone button event, this will allow users make many useful remote control profiles.

    Profile-scoped variables

    Michael Quinlan · 0 · Posted

It would be great if we could have local variables scoped at the profile level, so that their values would remain available to the exit task for the same instance if the profile.  Ideally this would include user-defined variables, event parameters, variables populated by Tasker with event-related values, and those populated by plugins.

No error messages with profile disabled

    Nirnic · 0 · Posted

Hi! Could it be possible to only get error messages when the profile which generated it is enabled? Use case: I'm using an app plugin to create a profile, I uninstalled that app and disable that profile, and get error messages because Tasker doesn't find the plugin. The only way to make those messages disappear is deleting the respective profile, but I would like to keep it to enable it if I reinstall the app needed in future, so I don't have to create it again from scratch. It would be nice.

    Thank you!

Full Screen Overlay in Immersive Mode Not Filling All Vertical Pixels

    Dan · 1 · Last reply by niwa2

I have run into the bug described here while attempting to create my own full-screen blocking overlay scene. The original post I linked to describes the issue well:

I'm trying to have tasker blank the entire screen, including the top status bar and bottom nav bar. But overlays don't seem to cover the top and bottom bars. If I switch to immersive mode to hide the bars, there seems to be a bug in tasker that crops the scene at the top and bottom. I don't want to use an activity instead because that causes the underlying app to lose focus.
