Problem with AutoInput and app saying it is unregistered

    Hello,

I have a task using the AutoInput plug. However, recently, possibly since my Samsung Galaxy FE S20 got updated to Android 12 I get the following error message: "Please unlock the app os start a trial to use this"

I purchased the app some time ago. I cannot find anywhere in the app where I can check its registration status.   I'm hoping you can help me, it's very useful to me.

Calendar data not found in TEST APP

Eric Foecking · 7 · Last reply by João Dias

I migrated my phone from a Samsung S10+ Note to a Samsung S22 Ultra over the weekend and have discovered I no longer get any output for the TEST APP for the Calendar actions.  This had worked flawlessly and reliably on the Note for the 3+ years I had the Note.  When I run the

TEST APP - CALENDAR/DESCRIPTION/LOCATION/TITLE returns blanks for the arrays even when there are both interval and all day events to report.

Using the Calendar state to trigger a PROFILE seems to find all the calendars and trigger appropriately.

ANY insights or options to try would

Allow named object variables and allow actions with multiple variables to be saved as object properties

Pete · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

I often wish I could create objects instead of grouping variables by naming convention. It can get messy if you have 2 or more of the same types of objects to track. If named objects could be implemented, it would be possible to store multiple values to a single variable name and constrain usable properties to the object's structure. The structure would help 'group' properties for variables of a similar type.

In terms of integration, it would be great to have the option and flexibility with actions that output multiple variables. A good use case is creating a profile for

You can choose what contexts when not true will trigger exit task

    Thatcher · 0 · Posted

You would be able to choose if any context is not true the exit task is ran or if only selected context can run the exit task when not true. Customizable per profile.

Failure to assign non-default TTS on first "Say" command

    Fmstrat · 0 · Posted

Using the attached task, the expected behavior would be:

    • Say "Test one" in `com.google.android.tts:eng-gbr`
    • Say "Test two" in `com.google.android.tts:eng-gbr`

However, if you let the device sit for a while (~2 minutes) and run this task, you instead get:

    • Say "Test one" in default Android TTS
    • Say "Test two" in `com.google.android.tts:eng-gbr`

    Device: Galaxy S9+

    Android version 10

This could be related to https://tasker.helprace.com/i234-tasker-say-voice-engine-bug, but I chose to post separately to not conflate a 3 year old report.

    Limit/tidy auto backups

    Colin Hemming · 0 · Posted

I bought a new phone 3 months ago and decided to rebuild my Tasker setup, which had years of patches and old ideas. The automatic backups have, so far, created 737 backups, 127MB, which is not sustainable or necessary. If nothing else, it would be easier to tidy up if they had a name such as TaskerBackup20220220163212.xml instead of being in hundreds of confusingly-named directories, each containing one file, all with the same name!

    Profile parameters

    Colin Hemming · 0 · Posted

When setting entry/exit tasks for a profile, it would be fantastic to be able to set the values of par1/2 sent to the task being called. I often have many profiles that call the same task, but with the need to identify where the call came from. I currently have to create 1-liner tasks to call a common function with those parameters. While %caller can be used, it has to be laboriously parsed and makes manual tests even more fiddly.

    Auto XML backups corrupted

Colin Hemming · 2 · Last reply by Colin Hemming

I have just tried to read the most recent automatic backup XML, but it's not a valid XML file. Manual files created are fine, but the automatic ones have no carriage returns (not critical, but irritating) and the tags have missing spaces, making them invalid, for example: <TaskerData sr=""dvi="1"tv="5.14.6">

    MultiSim support for phone states/events

It would be great if you could choose the slot for the states/events for Phone, instead of just using the default.

Monitor preferences for display on should also be the same settings for onCharging

    salas · 0 · Posted

It would be really nice if the monitor preference/settings for displayOn could be also used for onCharging. I need quick response for the sensors when using android auto, but since the display is off apparently the settings in use are the ones for display off.

Use a Task error as an Event Profile?

Ian Grody · 1 · Last reply by Albo

It would be pretty useful if when a Task or the like %err's, that this can be used as an Event Context. We already get notifications; But for cases where Tasks are expected (and sometimes required) to fail, such an event context would be useful.

An example of this is when wanting to dynamically adjust a Tasker service; say Accessibility. Task fails, %errmsg can be sent along with %caller() or the like.

It'd be sooo much better than adding tonnes of workarounds all over the shop to individual tasks when most errors can be remedied in identical ways. Task errors,

Alert > Popup Creates Scene Popup Conflict

Mike Rubin · 3 · Last reply by Rich D

Using the Alert > Popup creates a scene named "Popup".  This creates a conflict when trying to import any other project that also has a scene named "Popup".  Since scene names must be unique, no one can import my projects from Taskernet for this reason.

Perhaps create a scene with a random name that is unlikely to be in use elsewhere for Alert > Popup, or allow duplicate scene names across projects?

    Scene map profile

    Thatcher · 0 · Posted

Could you make it so that there is an action that will pull up the location map in context allow you to choose all those options then have it so that you have it as a profile. I want this becuase I want to make an app where if you are at a location you select it will trigger and I want this to be up to the user to decide the location.

    Request javascript function

noobOne · 1 · Last reply by MrVulnerable

Hi this is a request for addition of a built-in javascript function for setting display brightness (eg displayBrightness(int level, bool disable safeguard, bool ignore current level). As it is now, HTML sliders created in tasker webview element must call performTask() to change brightness level, causing laggy behavior on slider value change. Thanks!

"File Modified" event never triggered on OnePlus Nord 2

Michal Podařil · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hello,

I have created profile using File Modified event. But this profile is never triggered on my OnePlus Nord 2 device. Even Tasker can see/browse that file.

So, I have created backup and restored the same configuration on my older Xiaomi Mi 8 device. And it works...

It seems that tasker cannot see modifications on file system on OnePlus Nord 2 device.

Please, any idea how to fix this?

Detect when snoozed alarm had returned

Trigger a task when a previously snoozed notification has returned, such as a vibrate pattern, sound, etc. After Android 11, snoozed notifications return quietly, making them useless for me. Thanks!

Add label of next alarm within test next alarm action

The label/name of the upcoming alarm (native Android alarm?) is missing, which would be a powerful option to filter and react on, within tasker.

Specific [Custom Setting] seems glitched, you can enable, disable but not read current state or toggle

Theodore Calvin · 10 · Last reply by Sunny D

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G with (unrooted) Android 12 here.

My S20 has a feature called "Extra Dim" (to dim the display even more than the default minimum) which is identified by the Custom Setting "Find Setting" as (secure) "reduce_bright_colors_activated" with value 0 or 1.

I can ENABLE or DISABLE this specific setting without any problem using tasker, but surprisingly I cannot READ the current state, as Custom Setting doesn't return a value to the variable referred to by the "Read Setting To" setting (it returns the name of the variable, as usual when using uninitialized variables).

    Furthermore while on
