Permit use of variables in all action parameters

    Richard Kemp · 0 · Posted

For example, the 'Say' action accepts variables for the 'Text', 'Engine', 'Pitch', and 'Speed' parameters, but uses only spinners and checkboxes for the 'Stream', 'Respect audio focus', and 'Network' parameters.

It would be great if all parameters in all actions could be controlled by variables.

Use Variables in Media Control Action

    mbefore305 · 4 · Last reply by Richard Kemp

Add the option to use variables for Cmd and App in Media Control Action. Then I could use the same generic Media Control task for a lot of actions, while currently I need to implement several one depending on some other parameters I check.

Tasker could be able to record videos discreetly

    Horrorbjgames · 0 · Posted

Tasker would help a lot in certain moments when we have to be discreet time to record a video, because not always the photo can take the exact moment when someone tries to unlock the cell phone or several other moments in which a quick function with the tasker that would come to be very useful at these times.

Record audio in .mp3 since it is more popular among the devices

Horrorbjgames · 1 · Last reply by Mahammad Rafi

Tasker has the possibility to record audios but only in .mp4, .3gpp and so on. I do not understand why not in .mp3 if you have up to how to record it in video format?

Get information back from called app through intents

    Dimitrios K · 2 · Last reply by Dimitrios K

When sending intents, it would be useful if we could get data back from the called apps. So, for example, we could send an intent to pick a file and the called app would return the file in question, rather than developing a file browser or using a plug-in. This would be useful in other situations well

Add a switch statement to be used in place of if else/elseif

David Lebovic · 1 · Last reply by Jim Becker

Please add a switch statement that could be used in place of if-else -else if.  If you wish to check for a few conditions a switch statement would be easier to code and read instead of the multiple nested if-else if statements.

Please add Adaptive Icons (for Oreo users) and better Round Icon (for Nougat users) using default primary color as background with smaller inside Tasker icon.

Here as it should appear in my opinion:

Feature Request: Back Navigation Button in Tasker's Main Menu

    Rashad Pitsenbarger · 0 · Posted

Hi João, per your reply on reddit to add a ticker here... I am hoping you would consider extending the back button navigation you introduced in Scenes v2 to the main Tasker navigation menu as well.

Currently, navigating two or three levels deep into a submenu, only to realize you are in the wrong place, requires returning all the way to the three dots menu to start over. A small back button at each menu level would resolve this and meaningfully reduce friction for frequent users.

Given that the component already exists in Scenes v2, this feels like a natural

Notify action live update issue on lock screen / AOD

    MichiGigaByte · 0 · Posted

    Hello,

I'm writing to report an issue with the "Notify Live Update" action on my Google Pixel 10 Pro. Currently, the notification content is not appearing on the lock screen or the always-on display.

I believe this is due to the "Show sensitive content on lock screen" setting being disabled.

Would it be possible to add a checkbox on the action that allows users to specify whether a particular notification's content should be treated as sensitive or not?

I have attached screenshots of my lock screen both with and without the sensitive content setting enabled for reference.

    UI usability and readability improvements

Senliast · 3 · Last reply by João Dias

Currently, names of profiles, tasks, scenes and variables are cut off if they are too long. If there are many of them and you categorize them (for example with dashes in the name) - it becomes hard to differentiate between them, because you have to edit the name to read it fully. Therefore, i suggest to make them either running or wrap in multiple lines if too long (in all 4 tabs).

Additionally, i suggest to put the values of variables under its names instead of right from it (on the "Vars" tab), because these can be long as well

Check for new update for imported Taskernet projects

    Moshe Siani · 0 · Posted

I saw there was a post about it already but i thought to give it a try.

    https://tasker.helprace.com/i1756-auto-update-feature

I have found out that technically everyone can do it themself by saving the date of the imported project using the api taskernet link and just to compare it with the current date inside the json data.

    https://taskernet.com/_ah/api/datashare/v1/shares/$user/$project?a=0

So how about doing something like this but built in within Tasker with every imported project?

I would also recommend having the option to control the check for new update time and excludes projects from the checkup that the user doesn't want to update.

    Animation Effect on Scene

    Arif · 0 · Posted

I hope you can add animations to make "show and destroy scene" seem more lively, such as:

•pop-up: provides an attractive effect when used. attracts more user attention to something displayed in the scene.

•fade: as in video cinematography, this can have a dramatic effect. suitable for some situations.

Having a choice of effects on the scene will increase added value to the user experience.

I hope you and the development team can consider the suggestions I gave.

    Thank You.

Make If, Else and End If actions not set or clear the %err or %errmsg variables

Is there any reason for the If, Else and End If actions clearing the %err variable? If the %err variable was left alone by these actions, the task could be written more simply:

"Turn Off Bluetooth If No Device Connected"

    Alberto · 0 · Posted

    Hi,

I use the Taskernet profile "Turn Off Bluetooth If No Device Connected" but it only activates once, even if it is a state and not an event. But I (finally) found a way to trigger the BT while driving, and this by creating a profile that activates when notified by an app (Radardroid, tasker plugin) which itself starts by detecting the activity driving. The problem is that once arrived, it continues to activate and therefore turn on the BT (bug in the Radardroid service perhaps). I therefore want to create a profile like that of the Taskernet but which

Task Action for Manually Checking/Updating Various Monitors (particularly such as Cell Near)

    AllMyTasks · 0 · Posted

Sometimes a user may want to manually (via a Task Action) check/update a state instead of waiting for the relevant monitor to update it. So this request/idea is to add something like the following:

    TaskerFunction CheckNow(CELL_NEAR)

And in the above there'd be a list provided of various things that could be manually checked (such as WIFI_NEAR, etc).

This request is prompted by the following Reddit thread:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/comments/11t0ea9/help_use_a_separate_task_to_force_a_cell_near/

    Thanks for your consideration! :)
