Alert > Popup Creates Scene Popup Conflict

Mike Rubin · 3 · Last reply by Rich D

Using the Alert > Popup creates a scene named "Popup".  This creates a conflict when trying to import any other project that also has a scene named "Popup".  Since scene names must be unique, no one can import my projects from Taskernet for this reason.

Perhaps create a scene with a random name that is unlikely to be in use elsewhere for Alert > Popup, or allow duplicate scene names across projects?

    Scene map profile

    Thatcher · 0 · Posted

Could you make it so that there is an action that will pull up the location map in context allow you to choose all those options then have it so that you have it as a profile. I want this becuase I want to make an app where if you are at a location you select it will trigger and I want this to be up to the user to decide the location.

    Request javascript function

noobOne · 1 · Last reply by MrVulnerable

Hi this is a request for addition of a built-in javascript function for setting display brightness (eg displayBrightness(int level, bool disable safeguard, bool ignore current level). As it is now, HTML sliders created in tasker webview element must call performTask() to change brightness level, causing laggy behavior on slider value change. Thanks!

"File Modified" event never triggered on OnePlus Nord 2

Michal Podařil · 1 · Last reply by João Dias

    Hello,

I have created profile using File Modified event. But this profile is never triggered on my OnePlus Nord 2 device. Even Tasker can see/browse that file.

So, I have created backup and restored the same configuration on my older Xiaomi Mi 8 device. And it works...

It seems that tasker cannot see modifications on file system on OnePlus Nord 2 device.

Please, any idea how to fix this?

Detect when snoozed alarm had returned

Elias Cabrera · 1 · Last reply by Elias Cabrera

Trigger a task when a previously snoozed notification has returned, such as a vibrate pattern, sound, etc. After Android 11, snoozed notifications return quietly, making them useless for me. Thanks!

Add label of next alarm within test next alarm action

    Hauke M. · 0 · Posted

The label/name of the upcoming alarm (native Android alarm?) is missing, which would be a powerful option to filter and react on, within tasker.

Specific [Custom Setting] seems glitched, you can enable, disable but not read current state or toggle

Theodore Calvin · 10 · Last reply by Patryk Rajba

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G with (unrooted) Android 12 here.

My S20 has a feature called "Extra Dim" (to dim the display even more than the default minimum) which is identified by the Custom Setting "Find Setting" as (secure) "reduce_bright_colors_activated" with value 0 or 1.

I can ENABLE or DISABLE this specific setting without any problem using tasker, but surprisingly I cannot READ the current state, as Custom Setting doesn't return a value to the variable referred to by the "Read Setting To" setting (it returns the name of the variable, as usual when using uninitialized variables).

    Furthermore while on

[ Selection as Mixplorer ] A way to select with 'shift'

    GlitchYou · 0 · Posted

I would like you to implement Mixplorer's selection mode in the tasker to select several actions with a long click as if you were selecting on the computer with the shift pressed

    Demo YouTube

This is an example of what it looks like on Mixplorer

[ Debug Mode ] to check errors or bugs

    GlitchYou · 0 · Posted

I would like to suggest a way to use Debug in tasker in your tasks, profiles and etc

This could have breakpoints and visualization of variables and real time

I know this must be very complicated to do, but I think it would make Tasker much more productive when creating applications and when checking errors

Multiple error messages with new beta

Steve Rothkin · 3 · Last reply by Steve Rothkin

This is a follow-on to https://tasker.helprace.com/i1326-unknown-class-android-telephony-cellinfonr (I wish you hadn't closed it as solved because the beta https://drive.google.com/file/d/19w0kkEle9oinGusDHMe-1f1u6_xuuifD/view?usp=sharing simply changed the messages being displayed).

Now I'm getting the messages shown in the attached screen shots. I don't have any ADB WiFi actions (though I do have actions to turn WiFi on/off as well as to check WiFi state).

I've attached runlog and backup to help you figure out what this is referring to.

Selecting multiple elements in a Scene together, or clubbing them into a single group.

    MrVulnerable · 0 · Posted

I believe scenes are the most powerful tool in Tasker, which expands the scope of area where all we can implement advanced automation.

But the most difficult thing when it comes to Tasker is, modifying a scene, where we can't move an entire scene together. We have to move each and every single element in it, one by one. This is a hectic task especially when there are too many tiny elements in a scene.

It would've been much easier to reposition or resize the elements in a scene, if we had an option to select multiple elements at a time,

    AutoNotification and Toast problem again

StaffanT · 3 · Last reply by João Dias

I haven't noticed this until today but it seems like AN no longer intercepts toasts. I reported this some 9 months ago here https://tasker.helprace.com/i1145-autonotification-not-working-on-samsung-a51-with-the-new-one-ui-3-0 and got a fix that worked but I can no longer get it to work. Maybe the October update caused this? Notifications are intercepted fine. I'm running Tasker 5.14.6 with AN 4.2.3 on Android 11 and One UI 3.1.

    Cheers!

    Element boundaries in Scenes

    Anthony Kyle · 0 · Posted

Is it possible to make the interactive (tap/press) boundaries of elements to more closely reflect their actual shape rather than everything essentially being a square?

Activity performed [only] while button is held.

    Anthony Kyle · 0 · Posted

Is there currently a way to make a button perform an activity whilst it's held down? Instead of being a threshold waiting for a finger removal (tap) or a certain duration (long press) I think it'd be useful to have true HOLD event that only performs during the press and stops once the finger is removed. For example I had an idea to create a drum pad scene like a sampler with buttons to record sounds to.

    Display Timeout

    EricW · 0 · Posted

    Hi,

I think this problem (https://tasker.helprace.com/i514-turn-off-bug-with-android-p) has returned in version 5.14.6. I'm using a fairly old Galaxy S7 Edge. The task I use has been working perfectly until recently, when the Display Off action changes Display Timeout (now sets to 1 second) and the brightness level (is turns completely dim). I'm not able to check the Lock option .. that's Android 9 and above.

Get current carrier name or sim slot order number from which data connection is being used

    Abhishek M · 0 · Posted

I'm using a dual sim phone with internet connection availability from both sim. I frequently switch between them as per my need.

I'm looking for a way to get the name or slot order for the sim that is being used for internet connection.

I tried getSimCarrierIdName() from TelephonyManager and it gives value for sim1 only.

If possible, add a reliable way to get the current sim name using for internet connection.

    Thank you.

HTTP Request still adds errors to logs, even if continue after error is set and errors handled

Colin Hemming · 1 · Last reply by needtopost

Could a "don't log errors" be added to HTTP Request?

I am attempting to contact a server that is not available 24/7 and, even though my app deals with being unable to fulfil the request (usually "no route to host"), I am still greeted with a mass of error reports when I open the Tasker application, which could wipe out or obfuscate real issues.
