I'm new to tasker and I created 2 tasks, CrossFit and test.

It is not that the names are similar, or it only recognizes the command to open tasker or the task doesn't exist... Because when that is the case, the arrow next to the task doesn't appear, and it only shows the list of tasks... So that means the assistant recognized it and knows the task i requested...

I searched for configurations, permissions and all I could imagine but I can't get rid of that confirmation pop up... I just want it to run the task i ask and that's it... no additional confirmation needed. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

Hello, I am trying to make Tasker do, what i believe, is a fairly simple task.

I am using Tasker in my car. I have an aftermarket headunit that is running Android on it.

What I would like is, when the headunit turns on, I would like Tasker to wait 2 minutes, then open an app. "Waze" app to be exact. Thats it.

I was able to make this happen by simply creating a task with the following:

1. Wait -> 2 minutes

2. Launch App -> Waze

However, this proved to be unreliable because the aftermarket headunit does not keep time when it is turned off. (it does not have a backup battery either)

So when I start the car, the time is incorrect, the unit has a SIM card in it so within 5 to 30 seconds the time is updated to the correct time. This random time update causes Tasker to think that the 2 minutes have elapsed and it launches the app at very random times. Sometimes immediately after device boot, sometimes very close to 2 minutes. Its completely random.

I was thinking to do a FOR loop of some kind, where the FOR loop waits for 1 second and then increases a counter, then keeps looping through until the counter reaches the 120 seconds (2 minutes) and then launches the app. I believe this would be a good work around for the time update and would allow me to get what i need. I understand that when the time update occurs, one of the 1 second cycles might be off, but that doesnt matter as long as i am somewhat close to the 2 minute time.

Could anyone help with how this could be accomplished?

Help with Home Assistant Integration

Hi João Dias,

I'm so grateful for all the amazing features you've brought to automation and I absolutely love Tasker and have been using it to do everything for a long time now.

I've just recently started using Home Assistant and want to integrate my existing tasker code in both directions to either trigger "things" in HA or "trigger" things in Tasker from HA.

However, I've followed you're guide (https://tasker.joaoapps.com/home_automation/home_assistant.html#initial) but have had no success in making the integration work. I noticed that the file structure in HA has altered slightly from your guide "/config/blueprints/automation/tasker" which now sees "blueprints" as one[_cuted_]

I noticed that the file structure in HA has altered slightly from your guide "/config/blueprints/automation/tasker" which now sees "blueprints" as one of the root directories. I tried creating your "tasker.yaml" file in both folder structures but neither seemed to work.

I also imported the project into Tasker and ran the "HASS Setup", entering the "Long-Lived Access Tokens" and other config items, but after the HA didn't seem to work I re-imported the project overriding the existing one several times now.

To test I ran the Task "HASS Pick Media Player" and eventually the scene closed but never changed state from the attached.

I also built a simple automation from the "Tasker HTTP Request" blueprint and ran the automation. Nothing happened.

Please can you help with this issue?

Many thanks

I couldn´t find a thread about samsung secure folder and tasker integration, so I am gonna create this with some findings and question.

AFAIK, securefolder is basically another android user ( userid: 150 ) , just like work profile

First thing I was trying to do was using tasker to toggle the "hide notification content" on it when I leave home ( disconnect from my home wifi ). The problem I found is:

Tasker running on the main user can not detect any setting change in the secure folder option. Si I thought that maybe the activity we see to when we change the setting manually is actually inside the secure folder. So I installed tasker inside the secure folder and that tasker instance can actually see that I am toggling the "hide notification content" which is great, unfortunatelly it is a secure setting that would require me to grant tasker android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS which would be fine, except by the fact that I can not.

# pm grant --user 150 net.dinglisch.android.taskerm
android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Exception occurred while executing 'grant':
java.lang.SecurityException: Shell does not have permission to access user 150
com.android.server.am.ActivityManagerService.handleIncomingUser:16
android.app.ActivityManager.handleIncomingUser:5628
com.android.server.pm.PackageManagerShellCommand.translateUserId:24
    at com.android.server.am.UserController.handleIncomingUser(qb/92319763

So my first question would be:

1) Is there anyway for tasker running as main user ( which has the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS grant ) to toggle a setting for another user ( userid 150 ? )

My second question is related to AutoNotification ( also running as the main user since accessibility is disable in secure settings ). I have granted android.permission.INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS to autonotification ( not sure if it is needed ) so I could read notifications from the securefolder and that works. But a problem I am facing is that several variables like %anicon, %anapp are showing as NOT SET.

At first I thought that it could be related to the fact that the app installed in the secure fold01er was not installed in the main user too. So apps like Gmail would have icon and name grabbed by autonotification, but "Amazon" app installed only inside secure folder would have those unset. But I noticed that is not true. Some apps only on securefolder will also have name and icon set while others do not. So I have no idea what causes that. I can use as example here of one that works the "AliExpress" app.

2) So, why that happens?

3) The question is more about the Join App. Is there a way for the Tasker running in the main user to communicate with the Join instance running inside the work profile ? Or maybe a way that Join can login without the "google account" and use a simple username/password?

4) Turning this question in a much broader question: Is there a way to a tasker instance inside securefolder and a tasker instance in the main user to communicate ?
