Plugins actions with Variable Access / mutable states in runtime

I have made a third-party app with Tasker Plugin capabilities. I use custom UI for configuration at the moment, where I can not access Tasker variables (i.e. the state is locked as the plugin is configured, cannot be altered in runtime).

I am new to plugin development and have not checked all open-source community to find what I need, but is it possible to integrate with Tasker without custom UI (e.g. declare a parameter from Tasker's generic UI)?

I'm thinking of nasty workarounds such as accessing the clipboard for some temporary data storage...

How to intercept a notification that is only being sent when the display is on.

Hi there, I want to intercept a notification from an app. But that app will only send the notification on an android device when the screen is active. But the project is to have an android device that is not used, that intercepts these notifications. Any ideas how I could make this work? I tried everything to have the app send the notifications when the display is off, but no luck.

If the cellular signal of the current/active SIM1 falls below a 'threshold', I would like Tasker to switch to the other SIM2 (dual SIM device). If Tasker could check the cellular signal of SIM2 before switching (in case it too is poor) that could prevent a loop condition.

Some kind of logging would be great to track when Tasker switched between the SIMs.

I just upgraded Linageos and it seems like the license is stuck on the previous device id.

I'm trying to convert a curl shell command into an HTTP action put can't get it to work. I need a solution to this because the target system is Android 8 which doesn't include the curl shell command.

Shell command:

curl --request PUT --upload-file "%tempfile" -k https://mysite.com/uploads/

This works.

Tasker action:

HTTP Request PUT

URL

https://mysite.com/uploads/

Headers

This gives a response code 200 but no file is stored in "mysite.com/uploads/".

From the 31st of August 2024 Google requires that all new apps have API 34 (Android 14) as target level in order to be submitted to Google Play. Today the Tasker App Factory doesn't support higher levels than 29. Will we see App Factory support for level 34 by then?

App Factory 6.2.22 MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE disappeared

Hello after upgrading from 6.1.32 to 6.2.22 the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission has disappeared from the permission list of the app created with AppFactory. The kid App doesn't works anymore in any Android 11-12 testing phone (Oppo Xiaomi Samsung). So I've downgraded from 6.2.22 to 6.1.32 and I've created the same App again with App Factory 6.1.32. The MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission is back and the App works again in all the phones. Same tasks, same Android target version, same App name/release, same certificate, same testing phones, same antiviruses, same Android versions. Nothing changed. All exactly the same except for Tasker and App Factory releases (upgraded from 6.1.32 to 6.2.22 then back to 6.1.32). Is there a fix for that? Thanks so much. Mauro.

I am trying to use Tasker in order to disconnect from a certain Bluetooth device.

I tried both using the built-in task (Action > Bluetooth Connection > Disconnect) and the BlueTask plugin.

Both worked perfectly for a few of my Bluetooth earphones which I tested, but failed for my Motorbike Bluetooth.

I've been running tasker for about 4 years on various versions of Lineage using Mindthegapps without any issue. Since Monday I've started getting the Trial expired error but the app is showing as purchased in the Play Store?

kill the app on Android 14

I used to kill the app with the help of built in command in Tasker in Android 13. What I have noticed is that after Android update to 14 this feature doesn't work as it is expected. Say I want to kill the Firefox running, and after I trigger the kill command I still observe Firefox running as nothing had happened to it. I also used the adb command am force-stop but the output was the same.

Hi all!

I purchased Tasker 8 years ago via Google Playstore. I double checked it. I've now switched to CalyxOS which uses microG and the Aurora Store.
The current stable release works fine with microG. No complains at all.
If I, however, join the beta program, and install the current beta version (6.2.32-rc), Tasker complains about the end of the trial period. I'm not able to make it work. Deinstalling it, and re-install the current version (6.1.X) brings Tasker to life again.
Have you changed the Playstore detection recently? Or anything else in that version related to the Playstore?

Using Tasker to control a Harmony hub system

I bough this app specifically to control a Harmony hub. The "Tasker plugin for Harmony" says app is not available for your device in the Play Store. All threads regarding this plugin are several years old. Is there a way to use Tasker as it exists today so send remote commands to Harmony hubs?

I have purchased the app from the play store on my personal device and tested and does what we require

I need to install on 40 devices and we are managing them using Intune- looking at this think the best way would be via APK

Is there also a way that we can transfer the task between devices?
